Details: (First off, my real name is Yi, but I've attached myself to Devyn over the years and if I ever do finish writing a story, I will most likely "publish" it under a false name and it would be Devyn.) English was not my first language and I did not start reading novels until I was in the 6th grade. I remember even back then I looked for romance in the stories, even though at the time I don't think I knew what I was looking for. But even more than that, I've always gravitated towards stories narrated fom the female protagonist's point of view, although that's the ONLY books I will read. I'm also mostly a reader of the fantasy genre, mix in some sci-fi, thriller and mystery. These days I'm always on the lookout for a good fantasy story with strong elements of romance. Lest the word "romance" puts some people off, I'm not strictly talking about sex. In fact, usually I don't like sex scenes in the non-Harlequin books because they feel too contrived to me. It's all about the building up of the romance to me and less about what happens afterwards. Although if the characters and stories are interesting, you'll always want to read to more about them.
